The Inspiro 8 Studios team visited Greenville's "Open Studios" this past weekend, which is a local venue where artists open up their studios to the public for a time to meet and greet and mingle among their works. It's amazing the talent that is out there! It's humbling and inspiring all at the same time.
We left the event challenged, thinking of the direction of our studios and what we produce. The one common element we saw in all of the studios was "process". Never did you see a finished work of art without numerous sketches and thought development in various media forms. It reminded us of how important the actual "process" of design is and how creative it can be along the way. It is always amazing how an initial "deviation" or "error" can ultimately create a masterpiece!
A great time if interspection and for us to see how important "the art of design" is. We are all inspired to push further into our own areas of artistic interest to see how they can only contribute more so to the design work we produce.

Commission Mission
Finito! At last after many hours of work the painting for the new Indian restaurant"Handi" downtown Greenville have been completed. A total of 10 paintings were done, 5 large and 5 smaller works. I have breathed more paint fumes, charcoal and pastel dust than ever in any past artistic endeavor. A great sense of satisfaction upon completion - we invite you to see Inspiro 8's first "gallery" of work - and hey you can have some Indian food while you're at it!
To see some of the works - visit our website at www.inspiro8.com and go to the fine art studio / paint to see the works.

Idolic Stage
Maybe this blog should more appropriately be titled "After the Egg, Part 2", but we'll follow on the heels of fame instead.
We thought it would be fun to give you a preview of some of the work you'll see coming out of Inspiro 8 Red! As we had mentioned the team had a blast doing the stage design for the Easter service at Seacoast Church. So what goes into the design? A dash of stage props, creativity and lots and lots of scrutinizing the design. After setting of the design we critiqued, redid, re-lit, adjusted, tweaked, pulled a little hair out and then adjusted and tweaked all over again until we got it. And wouldn't you know it ... it was 1:00 AM when we were finally satisfied. The team really loves design work and wouldn't do it any other way. Walking out perfection takes sacrifice and commitment.
So enjoy the pics and "oh" is that American Idol finalist Chris Sligh on an Inspiro 8 stage design? There you have it, we now have six degrees of separation ... or maybe five if we push it.

Go RED
Coming along side of Inspiro 8 Studios is Inspiro 8 Red! This portion of our design studio will focus on stage design, graphic design, and ministry support. Read more in Inspiro 8 Red's upcoming blog. We are excited about this portion of the company as well and look forward to getting the word out for ministries as to the possibilities for design - especially designs on a dime!
Music for the Masses
Rebecca and I open the door to suggestions now for those of you with great music savy. As we draw near to launch our website, we are looking for suggestions for background music to the site. As a multi-facted studio, our design intentions are layered and draw on classical elements ... so we are looking for a sound that draws from the past, has classical elements, while remaining "edgey" with today's times. We could think of lots of good "80's and 90's stuff, but I'm not sure that "Love shack" and "Smells like teen spirit" will relay our design intentions!
Any suggestions ...?

Website Update
Just as an update - Inspiro 8's website will be going live in May in lieu of April. We invite you to stay tuned to this blog for more updates.
After the egg
We hope that everyone had a fantastic Easter and had the chance to dig deep and reconnect to the true meaning of this season.
The Inspiro 8 team slept well Sunday evening after all of the events and coordination leading up to Easter Sunday. Friday night Mitch was involved with painting at the Good Friday service held at Seacoast Church. Inspiro 8 assisted with some of the concept design work for the "atmosphere" of the service, and ultimately did "live" painting as part of the visuals for the service. It was a moving experience, both as a spectator and artist.

Saturday was bustling first thing in the morning with assembly and fabrication of the stage design for the Sunday service. Fabric panels were stretched and hung, then re-hung, and re-hung until the positioning was just right. Of course Inspiro 8's key designer - Maddi, was heavily involved in the action putting out her best efforts at design. (We're impressed at what a 2-1/2 year old can come up with!) In all the stage set came together well and Inspiro 8 was happy with the final product and the opportunity to assist with the design.
The past few weeks leading up to Easter have been amazing with the opportunity to participate in the community as a design firm. We have walked away with some great experiences and new introductions to fantastic people through private art commissions generated during the past three weeks. We look forward to continuing to share "the art of design" with all of you.

The "Works of Hope" series
Saturday was the big day for the final paintings Mitch completed for the Baskets of Hope event through Seacoast church. Three paintings were auctioned off and the one he worked on at the event was raffled off at the end of the afternoon. There's more painting to be done still, though! There were several art commissions that were born out of this fun experience! We're working to have our website up by the end of this month and at that time we'll be posting pics of all the different art work. Here's a couple of images in the meantime.

What's in a name?
So the questions begs to be asked ... "what does Inspiro mean?" A good question, and an even better answer! The word "inspiro" is derivative of the Latin word inspirare which translated "in" means "in" and "spirare "to breathe. As translated into English the word then begins to mean "to blow or breathe into" or "to infuse by breathing." What is fascinating about the Greek translation of inspirare is that the "in" is left off and it become spirare which places all of the emphasis on the Divine as a definition meaning "all that is breathed out by God".
Now what about the number 8? Eight is seven plus one, and is hence the start of a new order, the beginning of a new era. As in the baptism there is a new beginning of life in walking in the Light.
Put them together and Inspiro 8 by definition is "new beginnings inspired by God". We choose to take our God given talents in the realm of design to create new, "inspired" concepts and designs that are ultimately the product of the creative breath of God.

Basket of Hope
Inspiro 8 was recently involved in a community fund raiser for the Human Relations Commission of Greenville County through Seacoast Church. Mitch with Inspiro 8 has agreed to create 4 paintings of hope for the Baskets of Hope event, which will be raffled off next Saturday at Seacoast Church. See www.seacoast.org Greenville campus for more details. Mitch will also be downtown again this coming Friday for one more painting event. See you there!
